1. Introduction

ResuMagic ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Guochao Weng. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and delete information when you use our self-service AI resume optimization tool at www.resumagic.app.

2. Information we collect

Resume data (you provide)

When you upload a resume, we process its contents to provide the service. This may include your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, projects, and links you included in the document.

Job description (you provide)

The job description you paste is processed alongside your resume to generate tailored output.

Payment information

Payments are handled by our third-party payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number. We may receive transaction IDs and payment status linked to your optimization.

Free Beta (Asian overseas resume optimization)

During Free Beta, we may store your resume, job description, email address, feedback answers, and generated report in our database to unlock your full report and downloads, and to improve the product. We do not sell this data. You can request deletion anytime by contacting support@resumagic.app.

Feedback (optional)

If you use our feedback form, we may store your message, optional email, category, and optimization ID.

Technical and usage data

We and our hosting provider may collect standard web logs and first-party usage analytics, such as request timestamps, page paths, referrers, UTM parameters, browser type, approximate region, anonymous visitor/session IDs, and product events such as analysis started, analysis completed, results viewed, payment started, and download clicked. We hash IP addresses before storing them in our analytics tables and use this data for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and product improvement.

3. How we use information

• Analyze your resume against the job description you provide
• Generate and deliver optimized resume files you request
• Process payments and confirm download access
• Respond to support, refund, and feedback requests
• Maintain security and prevent abuse
• Understand aggregate site usage and improve the product experience

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your resume to train AI models.

4. AI processing

Resume text and job descriptions are sent to third-party AI API providers for analysis and rewriting. The active deployment currently uses Xiaomi MiMo API for service delivery. If we change providers, we update our configured subprocessors and can provide the current subprocessor list on request. Data is used only to fulfill your request, not for model training, per our providers' API terms where applicable.

5. Third-party services

• AI providers - resume analysis and text generation (see Section 4)
• Payment provider - secure checkout and refunds. Where applicable, the provider may act as Merchant of Record.
• Supabase - temporary storage of optimization records, beta feedback, funnel events, and feedback submissions
• Vercel - website hosting and serverless processing

Each provider processes data under their own privacy terms for the functions we use.

6. Data retention and deletion

• Resume content and optimized output are stored temporarily to deliver the service and enable downloads
• Free preview: optimization records expire and are deleted 24 hours after creation if not purchased
• Paid download: after payment, records are kept for 7 days from purchase so you can download PDF and DOCX files
• Records are automatically deleted when their expiry time is reached
• Feedback messages may be retained longer to improve the product and handle support

Because we do not require account registration, most resume data does not persist beyond this window. To request early deletion or ask about data we hold, email support@resumagic.app with your optimization ID.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for data in transit and industry-standard cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use the service at your own risk for highly sensitive information.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data.

• EEA/UK (GDPR): you may request access, rectification, erasure, or restriction. Contact us at support@resumagic.app. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
• California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell personal information. California residents may request disclosure or deletion by emailing support@resumagic.app.
• General: given our 24-hour deletion policy, most resume data is removed automatically without a request.

9. International transfers

Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our subprocessors operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards provided by our vendors for cross-border transfers.

10. Children

The service is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
